Implant-Retained Dentures

Implant Retained Dentures
More than 35 million Americans suffer from complete tooth loss on one or both arches of the mouth. Thanks to advances in modern dentistry, many are now turning to a highly effective form of tooth replacement called implant-retained dentures.

What Are
Implant-Retained Dentures?
Though implants are often used to replace single teeth, they can also be used for implant retained (or supported) dentures. An implant-retained denture is a custom-made prosthesis that is made to fit over and be supported by several implant posts surgically inserted into the jaw. Though it is similar in appearance to a traditional denture, an implant-retained denture is much more stable and comfortable because it is securely anchored to the jawbone via the dental implants, rather than affixed with temporary denture adhesive. Implant-retained dentures can be removable or fixed permanently into place.
